85:1 | [To the chiefe musician, a Psalme for the sonnes of Korah.] Lord, thou hast bene fauourable vnto thy land: thou hast brought backe the captiuity of Iacob. | LORD, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.
85:2 | Thou hast forgiuen the iniquitie of thy people, thou hast couered all their sinne. Selah. | Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.
85:3 | Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thy selfe from the fiercenesse of thine anger. | Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.
85:4 | Turne vs, O God of our saluation: and cause thine anger towards vs to cease. | Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.
85:5 | Wilt thou be angry with vs for euer? wilt thou drawe out thine anger to all generations? | Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?
85:6 | Wilt thou not reuiue vs againe: that thy people may reioyce in thee? | Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?
85:7 | Shew vs thy mercy, O Lord; and graunt vs thy saluation. | Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.
85:8 | I will heare what God the Lord will speake: for hee will speake peace vnto his people, and to his Saints: but let them not turne againe to folly. | I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
85:9 | Surely his saluation is nigh them that feare him; that glory may dwell in our land. | Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
85:10 | Mercy and truth are met together: righteousnesse and peace haue kissed each other. | Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
85:11 | Truth shall spring out of the earth: and righteousnesse shall looke downe from heauen. | Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.
85:12 | Yea the Lord shall giue that which is good: and our land shall yeeld her increase. | Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.
85:13 | Righteousnes shall go before him: and shall set vs in the way of his steps. | Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps. |
