3:1 [A Psalme of Dauid when he fled from Absalom his sonne.] Lord, how are they increased that trouble mee? many are they that rise vp against me. LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.
3:2 Many there bee which say of my soule, There is no helpe for him in God. Selah. Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.
3:3 But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter vp of mine head. But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
3:4 I cryed vnto the Lord with my voyce, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
3:5 I layd me downe and slept; I awaked, for the Lord sustained me. I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
3:6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that haue set themselues against me round about. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.
3:7 Arise, O Lord, saue mee, O my God; for thou hast smitten all mine enemies vpon the cheeke bone: thou hast broken the teeth of the vngodly. Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
3:8 Saluation belongeth vnto the Lord: thy blessing is vpon thy people. Selah. Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.
